Justin Sikes, DMD
Dr. Justin Sikes is a Georgia native whose journey into oral surgery has been guided by a deep commitment to service, precision, and patient care. After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he began his career as a general dentist in Shiprock, New Mexico, serving the Navajo Nation with compassion and dedication.
His pursuit of surgical excellence led him to the University of Washington, where he
completed a rigorous Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. There, he trained
extensively in facial trauma, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, and wisdom tooth removal—skills that now define his practice.
In 2022, Dr. Sikes founded Desert Southwest Oral and Facial Surgery in Cortez,
Colorado, bringing specialist surgical care to Cortez, CO in a welcoming, patient-first
environment. Known for his calm demeanor and genuine connection with patients, he blends specialist techniques with small-town values.
Though his roots are in Georgia, Dr. Sikes chose to make Cortez his permanent home—not just for the beauty of the Southwest, but for the deep friendships and Christian family he found at New Covenant Fellowship Church. That community became a cornerstone of his life, shaping both his personal and professional journey.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sikes is all about family and the outdoors. He spends his free time coaching his kids’ sports teams, riding mountain bikes through the high desert, and hiking the rugged trails of the Southwest. His love for adventure and mentorship carries into his practice, where every patient is treated with the same care and respect he brings to his own community.
